Prior to starting her legal career in Canada, Jessy had worked as a lawyer in Hong Kong for 5 years.

Jessy’s primary focus is estate and trust practice. Jessy’s clients include high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs and professionals. Jessy provides practical and personalized advice aligning with clients’ short and long-term estate-planning objectives. Jessy regularly prepares pertinent documents for estate planning, such as wills, trusts, and power of attorney. She also handles corporate reorganizations and estate transactions related to property such as family and estate transfers, survivorship, and transmission applications.

With her previous work experience in Hong Kong and full understanding of the culture, Jessy is able to provide effective estate planning advice and strategy to both Canadians (non tax-residents) returning from Hong Kong and new immigrants.

Jessy is also heavily involved in commercial real estate practice including the acquisition, disposition, and financing of commercial real properties. Jessy drafts and negotiates a wide range of real estate contracts, such as agreements of purchase and sale, loan and security documents.

Jessy also handles corporate and commercial work, such as incorporation, structuring and organization of companies. Jessy regularly prepares corporate documents including shareholders agreement, joint venture agreement and limited partnership agreement.

• a family in corporate reorganization involving incorporation of new company, transfer of real property, section 85 rollover and spousal rollover
• a high-net-worth divorced individual appointing corporate trustee (bank) as executor in the Will and attorney in the Power of Attorney with testamentary discretionary trust for the benefits of the son and grandson (under 18 years old) who reside outside Canada
• preparing multiple wills for an individual who owns private Ontario company shares with spouse being a non-resident and son being under 18 years old
• advising a couple who return to Canada from Hong Kong on repatriation of capital and purchase of real property by way of family trust and holding company
• not-for-profit corporation in various acquisitions of lands for long term care homes and life lease projects in Ontario
• an investor in a land (plaza) purchase with over 40 commercial tenants (purchase price of over CAD$35,000,000.00) in Toronto, Ontario
• an investor in acquisition of a multiple-tenant industrial property together with vacant land (total 330 acres) (purchase price of over CAD$20,000,000.00) near Hamilton, Ontario
